I was born and brought up in North Lincolnshire. On leaving school, I served as an engineering apprentice in the local steelworks. When my training was complete, I decided as a young man I would go and work in Jersey for the summer season. Twenty-four years, a wife and three children later, we all returned to the UK and settled in the village of Ford, near Shrewsbury - That must have been the longest summer season on record!
I have done many different jobs since leaving school, but can honestly say my role as Property Manager here at Rowton Castle is the most enjoyable and satisfying I have ever had. The aspect I most enjoy is working out in the hotel grounds, it is a fabulous setting, and I never tire of the views out over the fields, particularly in the early morning.
I try to present the Castle's grounds each day as I would want them to be if my own daughter were getting married there. I am proud to be part of the Rowton Castle team, and to play my part in the smooth running of the hotel.
