Radio 1 DJ plays at Rowton Castle Wedding Venue

As a midlands wedding venue, it was a pleasure to welcome a London based DJ to the county of Shropshire, and the town of Shrewsbury, to complete the wedding package of a recent happy couple….

A Rowton Castle Bride & Groom had the pleasure of top Radio 1 DJ Greg James playing at their wedding reception last month.

The Radio 1 DJ agreed to play for free at the couple’s wedding reception at the castle, after John,the groom, suggested it during a chat on Greg’s afternoon BBC radio show.

True to his word, 24-year-old Greg turned up to entertain guests at the evening wedding reception at Rowton Castle Hotel.

Bride Ruth said: “It has been a fantastic wedding day and to have Greg James here as well makes it just brilliant, it is such a thoughtful thing for him to have done.”

The Radio 1 DJ got into the party mood by joining in the applause as John and Ruth took to the floor in this prestigious wedding venue  for their first dance as a married couple to the sounds of Time of My Life from the movie Dirty Dancing.

Greg, the DJ, who was accompanied to the exclusive use castle wedding venue by two of his Radio 1 producers, said: “I am delighted to be here, they are such a nice couple that I just thought why not?”

“I have never played at a wedding before so this is a first for me. I have to say this must be the classiest place I have ever played.”

“I am just so pleased to be here and be part of this special wedding day.”

Bedroom Refurbishment Completed At West Midlands Castle Wedding Venue, Shrewsbury

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Bedroom Refurbishment here at Rowton Castle.

In January 2009, all first floor bedrooms were refurbished, with the second floor bedrooms refurbishment just completed this January 2010.

Bride’s & Groom’s searching for a dream wedding venue are extremely complimentary of the sumptuous decor and design that is now present throughout the entire castle.
